UTSA cuts residence hall mail delivery permanently, mailboxes on campus now $100 per year

The University of Texas San Antonio has chosen to end daily mail delivery to residence halls. Instead, on-campus residents wanting to receive U.S. mail will now have to rent a mailbox on-campus from a private operator for $100 per year. The change comes as the university cites a steep decline in letter mail to residents.

The university says that the change will free up student assistants to better serve residents.
